Some of our most frequently asked questions

How much space do I need?

Because decks can be so flexible, almost any shape or size can be built, including sloping sites or building around existing features, such as trees.

Do I need planning permission?

Most deck designs do not need planning permission. Very large or unusual designs, however, may need to be drawn up and submitted, but we can help you through every stage of the process. Decks are subject to building regulations, which ensure that they are built to a particular standard and are safe to use.

What maintenance is needed?

Our decks are designed to minimise the need for maintenance. The deck will not need painting annually with preservative, nor will it need any special cleaning process. Mildew and other deposits which may collect on the deck are best cleaned by scrubbing or low pressure spraying. Using chemical cleaners is not recommended as they may harm the wood or cause other side effects such as raising the grain or altering the colour of the deck. Minimal maintenance will ensure your deck remains looking great for many years.

How long will it take to build?

The length of time needed to build the deck varies for each design. Simple designs may take a few days from site clearance to completion, but multilevel decks with complicated features will take longer. We keep disruption to a minimum and all waste is taken away on completion.

What will it cost?

Designs start from as little as £350. Please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with a free no obligation quotation.

What do I need to do?

We will take care of as much or as little as you want us to. All you need to provide is an idea of the style and size of deck you want and we can offer example designs and then take care of the planning and construction ourselves.

What is the first step?

Call us and we will be happy to visit the proposed site, discuss what plans you have and help you with any questions.
